Our Services
All services are individually negotiated and tailored to meet your specific needs. They are delivered within the most up to date national context and the specific auditing frameworks and standards relevant to you and your organisation.Diversity Action is working with NHS Trusts and PCTs, both commissioners and providers, on a range of activities. Current work is focused on meeting the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 and the national Equality Delivery System (EDS).
Equality analysis has taken the place of equality impact assessments (EIA) although current EIA systems can be enhanced to meet the new requirements.
What does the Equality Act 2010 cover? This act extends the groups that were covered by previous legislation and brings together the current public sector duties into one single duty. For more information see our web page “Legislation”. There are also a number of other changes and requirements – contact us to find out more.
Are you able to design and produce information and training materials? Yes. We have produced resources for a number of public sector organisations and SMEs. These have been targeted at directors, senior managers, employees and learners.
I'm only a small organisation, surely this doesn't affect me? Most legislation applies to all companies regardless of size. With more people being aware of their rights in the workplace, more employees are taking their employers to tribunals. The number of tribunals being brought against small companies is rising and this also applies to voluntary sector organisations and social enterprises. If you work for the public sector the Equality Act 2010 requires you to demonstrate an active commitment to equality and diversity when tendering for work.
Can Diversity Action help me to write & implement an Equality, Diversity and Human Rights Policy? Yes. It will be fit for purpose and take into account the size of your organisation and type of business that you are.
What other policies do I need? You need an internal grievance procedure, a Dignity and Respect at Work Policy (sometimes called Harassment and Bullying Policy) and a Health and Safety Policy. Other policies are also helpful, for example with recruitment and selection.
What do you charge? Since all work is bespoke prices are individually negotiated - charges will vary depending on the nature of the work.
